P4 Woodblock Carving and Printing on Marbled Paper

First they drew patterns onto the wood which they had cut themselves with saws.

Time to start carving patterns into the wood!

Next we filled the sinks with water and color to try marbling paper!

Admiring the results!

Stirring the colors to make patterns...

Ready to try!

Time to ink the wood pieces!
Printing the wood onto the dry marbled paper.
(Transferred ink onto paper by rubbing)

Giving a demo of what's next!

After drawing around the printed area in pen,
the students try smudging in oil pastels lightly to color in some areas.

Clay Lamps with P5! They created some unique shapes and new holes for the light to escape!!

Cardboard Loom Weaving with P6! We cut and made our own looms from cardboard boxes we recycled for some colorful results!
